On the Edge

Potential doesn’t mean a thing,
You’ve gotta do it, live it, be it.
Because every baby in a crib has more potential than any of us.
And that’s just the truth of the matter.

Real life, the full life, is lived right on the edge
On that precipice
At that point where you push every moment to its limit
But never over.

Anything less would be a tragedy
An opportunity wasted
And a life half lived.

So don’t die wondering, laying down to rest on a bed full of regrets
Because at the end of your life
The one thing you won’t be able to wrestle back
Is time.
