“Always keep your word…” – is the advice I would give on my deathbed.
Because your word is your bond and it goes to the heart of your integrity
It establishes your credibility
It says something about you,
And whether you can be trusted and relied upon.
Because if you lose your credibility, you essentially have nothing left.
It’s not only about knowing that others can rely on you;
it also goes to the heart of whether you can rely on yourself.
Whether you can deliver on your promise
Whether you can look yourself in the mirror and respect what you see
And if you’re content with lying to yourself and others
Content on selling yourself and others short
Then don’t be disappointed, when one day, your facade comes tumbling down
And others sell you a little short too.
This is a sure way to break a bond, assuming one even existed in the first place.
