Reflection

Looking Yourself In The Mirror

Do you ever stop to look at yourself in the mirror?

Stop to look through the pretense, to see beyond the veil.

To confront the reality of you or your situation and who you are

To reflect on whether you are living up to your promise.

It’s easy to project whatever is going on inside

It’s easy to make excuses.

It’s easy to complain.

It’s easy to stay just busy enough so you never really have to deal with it.

But truth is like a sword

And the truth often hurts.

It’s hard to face up to the fact your life may seem inadequate

That you haven’t lived up to your own expectations.

That you’re scared

That you’re holding on and can’t let go.

And it’s painful.

But sometimes breaking is the only way to break through.

So give yourself a moment to look at yourself in the mirror and then tell me what you see.
