Looking In All The Wrong Places

Maybe you can’t find what you’re after
Because you’re looking in all the wrong places,
And for all the wrong things.

Maybe what you want, is not what you need at all
And maybe what you need has been right there in front of you.

Maybe we just can’t see some things
Not because they’re not there,
But because we’d rather not see.

Too distracted by our own righteousness to ever take notice
And too blinded by our own ego.

Maybe we’re too busy convincing our selves that we know best
When in reality, we know nothing at all.

Maybe the answers you seek are right here, right now,
But you’re spending way too much time talking to yourself
And not enough time listening.
