Getting Your Shit Together

Getting your shit together means to get your priorities in order. 

To stop fluffing around and start taking control

It sounds simple enough, but simple never meant easy.

There are tough questions to be asked and decisions to be made 

And it usually involves making some sacrifices

That’s part of the deal

But sacrifices are things that most people don’t seem to be willing to make.

So that begs the question, how important is it?

You want the prize, but you aren’t willing to do the work.

You aren’t willing to assume the responsibility,

You aren’t willing to commit 

And you are indifferent, lacking conviction, ready to quit at the first signs of adversity

We know that all things must come to an end –  

So just stop making excuses

Stop playing victim and convincing yourself that you can’t when you haven’t even tried

And don’t waste your time saying later, only for later to never arrive.

Maybe it’s time to grow up and finally start getting your shit together.
