It’s Not Always About How You Feel

We place so much emphasis on feelings
Often forgetting
That although feelings may shape us in many ways
In the end, it’s not feelings that define us.

You are not your feelings, nor should you be.
You are much greater than that.

You can spend a lifetime trying to detach from them or,
You can use them as fuel you to drive you forward.

Feelings are not to be ignored
But dwelling on them can only do so much.
What defines you in the end, is how you respond.
It’s what you do,
The decisions you make and the path you take,
Despite how you might be feeling.
