What you see

It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.

Perception is a funny thing
It’s not reality, just your version of it.

Often distorted and shaped by your own bias
A dose of cognitive dissonance, justifying the world to yourself and transforming it into your own image.

Your own story
Your own version of events
Your own heaven and your own hell.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Perhaps your time is better spent washing away the grime –
Purifying your heart, so it can see more clearly.
So you can start looking at things and know them for what they are.

Because I can guarantee you this.
If you go on seeing only what you want to see –
You’ll eventually find whatever it is you’re looking for, whether it was there or not.
