When you’re no longer here

You can be everywhere and nowhere at the same time
Present yet absent
Connected yet disconnected
Alive, but dead.

You can be in touch yet out of touch
In the company of a loved one, that’s not really there, or;
Longing for someone, whose presence remains, despite their absence.

You can let a lifetime pass you by or
experience eternity in a single glance.

Whether you’re present or absent, here or there
It makes no difference.
These are all moments in time that pass just the same.

But yet the questions remain,
What impression will you leave in the fabric of time?
What imprints will you leave in the hearts of others?
What will you leave behind, when you’re no longer here?

Either that matters or it doesn’t,
The choice is yours to make.
